Thesis (M.S.)--The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, 2008.
This study examines relationships between proactive personality, the Big Five, and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). Results show that proactive personality is only partially a composite of the Big Five. Proactive personality is also shown to have a high correlation when predicting organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). This study shows that proactive personality was significantly positively correlated to extraversion and conscientiousness. Lastly, results from a two step regression show that proactive personality resulted in incremental validity over the Big Five factors when predicting OCB.
